Outriggers (to rig or not to rig)

Ive been doing some research on these outrigger do-hickies so what do you all think to do or not to do? Is anyone using them what do you think? Any pros or cons?

I think the only cons to them are added weight and paddling resistance. You can also make a set for pretty cheap. Do a search on google for homemade Kayak Outriggers. Some good ideas floating around out there.

unless your doing a lot of standing up dont waste your money. i got an outrigger for my wife so she would feel safer in our tandem sink waste of money glad i could add it into the price of the yak when i sold it

I personally have these outriggers http://www.yak-gear.com/OUTRIGGERS.html ....and I love them. Yea, they drag me a lil bit when I use the paddle. But I love them for the extra stability. I'm a bigger guy 6'1 280, and my hobie quest really rocks when I'm in it with out the outriggers. So, I would totally get these outriggers. They are great!
