I was looking for a simple way to hang four boats on the back of my shed. My idea was based on how I have hung my large aluminum extension ladder on the foundation wall in my garage for 25 years and couldn't be simpler. It is a little pricey at about $50 per boat.

I used 3/4" x 30" black pipe and matching floor flanges. The boats are wider than 30", but rest on the supports at narrower spots. Supports are 18" apart vertically. Four inch outdoor wood screws go through an exterior 2x4, the shed siding, and into another 2x4 on the inside of the shed wall.

I covered the 3/4" black pipe with 1" PVC and capped it with a 1" rubber chair leg tip. I was thinking that resting on PVC would be better than pipe. I learned that I needed to scrape all the stickers off the pipe before sliding the PVC on as it is a snug fit.
