  • Rods holders fabrication

Welded up a rod stager to screw into the Native slayer Propel drive, and made to rod holders to fit into the flush mount rod holders.
I angled the rod holders out to double for trolling.

Made the rod holders out of 1.25" sch 40 PVC.
Slotted the end that goes into the flush mounts, it gives a tight fit.
slotted them for a spinning reel, and added a notch to lock the rod in.
Used home made PVC stain (clear cleaner and black dye.
    $0 dollars in both projects.

Well done! We used to have a lot more PVC engineering on here but now there seems to be an accessory for every need. Good to see DIY project!
      Used to fish more.

              great job!
That little notch for the reel handle is such an easy idea that it makes me wonder why aren't all rocket launchers like that?

Yeah, I'm not sure who posted it, but i am eternally grateful for the instructions to make a rocket launcher for the old Revo. I didn't want to drill holes and his instructions were down to the screw size. It has lasted 3-4yrs now. Thanks whoever you are!

That's a nice job. I still use PVC a fair amount, although I'll admit YakAttack gets a fair amount of my money. I use Modelo beer bottles to do the flair (there used to be a guy from SC - Palmetto Kayak fishing, that had a blog and he used those), but the trailer ball looks like it did the job well too.

Took me a while to settle on rod holders...went every which way at first...Scotty, YakAttack, Hobie...but you get a decent size fish slam a lure trolling and the drag is the least bit tight...so like several Outback/Revo owners I fabricated a PVC rocket launcher multi-rod holder system that slides into the two factory moulded rod holders behind the seat...It is the only rod holders I use...for anything.
