Running this kind of power is very simple.
Figure out what the battery terminals look like and buy terminals that will mate with it. These terminals you'll crimp onto your wire, red and black. Splice this to the red and black wires that come with the cable that comes with your FF.

I ran my wiring inside the hull through a waterproof connector. My wires are ran to the battery then i put the battery in a small dry bag and seal it. Connect to ff and off you go. Just make sure polariity is ok and run wiring to protect from damage. As stated in above it is pretty simple.

A simple crimping tool available from any hardware store can be a real help putting on the wire clips that attach to your 12 v battery terminals...as has been stated in other post...red wire to red wire, black wire is attached to black wire...I added a 3 volt fuse inline on the red wire to protect my Fish Finder from damage- red wire is the (+) plus on your battery- black is the (-) negative..."Lady Luck" 2016 Red Hibiscus Hobie Outback, Lowrance Hook2-7TS

What kind of FF will you use? If it's a small black/white type, power draw is small and you don't need a heavy 7AH battery. If you have a color FF, power draw is higher and the 7 AH may be the ticket. Some guys use larger capacity batts for their larger color FF.
Does your FF have a fuse or circuit breaker? If so, you don't need to install an in-line fuse. Does it have a safe polarity circuit?2015 Hobie Outback (yellow)

I have my battery in a plastic box that I bought with the battery. I still need to figure out a way to secure it so it doesnt slide around. I have the wires hooked up just like anythng else. Very similar to speaker wire or jumping a car. Red is positive, black is negative. My battery terminals have screws with a washer under each. So I exposed the copper on each wire and put each wire under its respective terminal washer and screwed them in. Hope that makes sense and helps.-Jon
