Anyone have one of these on their Hobie? I'm interested in installing one, but I am having trouble visualizing where to put the thing. The peddles and a FF on the port side make it a challenge. Might not be possible, but I thought I'd check here first.

I guess it depends what you want to use it for. Also depends on the Hobie.
On my Revo, I might put it in the sail mast post, forward of the drive well. But that makes it hard to reach. I wouldn't put it on just to put it on. You need to figure out what you'd use it for first.

I tried using it in the sail mast. It'll work OK for a fish finder and GPS, but it won't work for rod holders. There's too much leverage, and the entire thing will twist when trolling or when a fish hits while bottom fishing. If you're still interested in trying it, I can sell you the one I have for a really good price.Yellow Hobie Revo Rube Goldberg

It would be installed on an Outback. I would likely use it for bottom fishing while anchored up for rock and redfish in the spring. Im not too far from Smith Island and have to and from on most any weekend. I havent fished there before but know of some fellas at work who catch both there around late april/may consistently. The more I think about it though, the more I think installing a ram mount/rod holder combo would be easier. One rod in my hand and the other in the holder.___________________________

Another option is to mount Scotty rod holders in a YakAttack GearTrac. That way, you can slide the rod holders out of the way when not wanted or even remove them. I will be posting some pictures of those in a few days, from the rigging of my new kayak. I use a Ram ball in the sail mast hole, as Bill said, but it is for a FF/GPS. Scotty also makes one of those spreader type things. If it is larger fish you may want to go with separate mounts. Although, the spreader would keep things in one spot. I can see why the Ram set up would turn with larger fish.
