  • Rigging Continues

If this weather continues, I may be out fishing earlier than I had thought. So, I am moving right along on setting up the new ProAngler. I used gear trac to mount Scotty rod holders. That way I can move them for conditions such as trolling or drift fishing. There is also room for my cam cleat on the gear trac for days when I am anchored and fishing. I put extensions in the rear flush mount rod holders. I mounted a MadFrog Gear Liberator on a short gear trac. That way I can put the transducer directly into the water. I am also using the liberator until I make my mind up on a new and larger FF/GPS. I think, I like the Humminbird 597 HD DI. I have the blocks mounted for the anchor trolley but not yet strung the trolley. The battery for the FF is in a waterproof Pelican box behind the built in tackle box or sort of under the deck just below the seat. I also put together a new crate for storage, rods and tackle.

My Torqeedo came today, so that will provide some additional work tonight. It looks like a nice set-up. I will probably need at least two more batteries. I will run this one and see how far it goes. I do alot of trolling. I will post a few pictures to show the progress. I sold my old kayak, which enabled me to buy the Torqeedo sooner that I had expected.

The mounting rails with the liberator is pretty sweet...makes you feel a lot better about making mounting decisions.

Looks really sharp, Don. I'll be curious to see how you like the Liberator. I've been considering one for my Tarpon.

                  Don,

That's a great looking yak. Should have your old yak out on the flats by end of next week for my inaugural yak voyage.
