Kayak cart question

I am considering getting a Wheeleez kayak kart with the no flat tires. My reason for this is so I can use it to self load the kayak onto my Camry roof.

My question is, will these tires work ok for taking the yak from the parking lot to the water at Jonas Green park? Since there isn't much sand to cross, I don't figure I need the fat balloon tires. Am I right? The yak will be the Ocean Kayak Trident 13 angler.

The sand there isn't too soft, and that is a really short trek. I'm sure you'll be fine there.

For launching at Jonas Green, I don't even bother with wheels. I run about 10-12 ft of 1" rope through the front handle, take an end in each hand, and drag my kayak across the grass and sand until it is in the water. Admittedly this eventually adds scratches. But for me, the kayak is a device to enable my hobby -- it is not babied. The scratches are badges of its hard use and good service.

I fully understand that others are reluctant to do that, especially when they have brand new kayaks without scratches. But it does offer another alternative solution.

Having said that, I did make up a set of wheels last fall. I use them to wheel my kayak from the walk-out basement, up a sloped yard to the driveway. I have also used them in cases where I park my car, then need to move the boat some distance across a paved surface.

+1 ON THE "NOT BABIED" lol my kayaks gain years of damage in weeks. Ive dragged them over everything including parking lots without wheels.

On occasion, I have a need to pull my Trident 13 over 100-200 yds of sand. My cart with the fat wheelez works great. I use to pull my yak over the sand at SPSP, but is was a haul with the cart with 1.75" knobby tires. With my DIY wheelez cart, it was much easier.

worst thing i've dragged over so far is an oyster shell beach at chinco. each shell is like a little wood plane. this also happens at the ocean where there's shells sort of buried in the sand at the break wash.
