Hobie livewell change

thought i would mention a change i did to the hobie livewell. because the pump discharge is at the bottom of the tank, when the pump it shut off, the water can drain out. so if youre out for a super long time, dont feel like using all the batteries charge, or forgot to recharge the battery, i like a way for it to stay filled and be able to turn off the pump. it does come with a cap that is put over the pump for this but that is a pain in the ass. so i just bought an adapter, elbow and piece of pipe at HD and just raised the discharge to be higher than water level. pretty simple. i'll take some pics but you can see it at the end of this clip.

good idea. i think ive already lost that small cap that came with livewell. I was actually surprised about how long the battery actually lasts. i used it for 3 outings in a row without charging it with the livewell always running.
