  • What I think I want and need for rigging.

I'm back from my maiden voyage and all though I posted in the Boatyard forum about my outing, I wanted to put my rigging thoughts here where the should be.
So, to answer DanMarino, I think I want and need:

#1. A trolley anchor; I drifted so often that I spent all most as much time against the bank as in deep water. I am not sure
if just an anchor stick would be sufficient.

#2. A Yak cart to transport my Yak. I have read some of the post on here and the web. I have a sit in so the "T" bar top is
what I plan to build. What is better to use; ratchet straps or bungees?

#3. Crate, got to get a crate.

#4. I want to add more rope guides to the dash of my Yak so I can beaner clip/tether more frequently used items in front of
me. For example, my phone, my license(s), and a mini tackle box to hold what lures I'm using immediately.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    PP

An anchor trolley isn't a bad job. You can make one without drilling just by running a line through carabiners clipped to the front and rear carry handles. You could go really fancy and use some Harken cheek blocks, which are nice and smooth.

Ratchet straps are overkill for a cart. I use something like these: http://www.nrsweb.com/shop/product.a...2&pdeptid=1188 They are solid, hold up well, and don't slip.
