  • Kayak storage

I have a 8 by 16 foot barn style shed that I would like to store a kayak in. With the temperature reaching around 105 inside is this to hot for storage? Frank.

You should be fine, just make sure that you store it properly on some horses on it's top or on it's side. With the heat getting that high it might warp your hull if you store it right side up. I keep mine outside under a tarp on it's side all Summer and haven't had any issues.

I have two kayaks in my outdoor shed that are on wall mounted cradles with pool noodles. Everything seems fine as far as I can tell with them.

Shouldn't be an issue. I leave my yak closed up in my cargo van sometimes, even on these extra-hot hell days we've been getting, and I haven't had any problems. It has been up to 125 degrees in the van.

Thanks to everyone for the responce,I think maybe a few more vents under the eaves might help. There is a truck with a kayak on it parked in the Laurel Harbor Frieght parking lot in direct sun, can't be any good for it.Thank you , Frank.
