Looks like you'd want to do it in a well ventilated area but would be a good way to color your pvc without dealing with the chips and cracks you get with paint. If I ever get around to building another one I'll probably go this route so I can make a blaze orange one.

On a side note regarding my measurements.. I'm going to shorten the 11" pieces that go from the Kayak rod holders to the cross fittings. When I sit, the PVC come right up to the back of the chair, which I initially thought would be great, but after being on the water for extended periods of time I find that I'd like to lean back more... I'm going to cut it down to 9" and connect it with couplings...
