  • Hobie Question

I just picked up a used Revo 13, and I'm going through Hobie's catalog of parts & accessories. They sell a "Drive Well Seal" that is supposed to seal the aft end of the MirageDrive well to keep the seat area drier. Has anyone used this? Does it work? It's only $11 so it's cheap.
    Thanks,
    Bruce

I have a hard time believing that it does anything because it's just a flap of rubber. It looks like it just sits there and doesn't really seal anything. Even a small opening will allow the well to fill with water.

it minimizes the "pulse" of water or sloshing coming up from the mirage drive.

+1 I use and like it, especially when the yak bobs a lot.

I guess I'm not really a good one to comment on this since I've never been without the seal.

+2 It does help minimize the surge of water up into the drive well area.

I've got one on my pro angler. Don't know as it does any good and has two ss screws. Just one more thing you have to keep from rusting out.

Absolutely worth it. Especially in rough water

I think it is worth adding because it keeps water from coming up into the seat as much when it is rough out. The kit is a quick easy install.
