  • Product Review - Overboard Fishing Rods

I didn't go into any details about one specific Overboard rod that I have or really give any fish stories but I've caught a ton of species on these rods already... Largemouth Bass, Crappie, Bluegill, Golden Shiner, Redfish, Speckled Trout, Houndfish, Channel Cat, Blue Cat, Pickerel

... And they truly are a great company with awesome customer service. A lucky someone will win a gift certificate for any Custom Overboard Rod at this years CBKA Tournament!! So check them out!

      Rick,

I'm giving my honest opinion, I wouldn't fish the rods if I didn't feel they were high quality tackle. I'm biased because I like the rods and I catch fish on them, not sure whats wrong with that.

I don't get free rods, I don't get paid if their rods sell, not sure where your going with that?

Just trying to share a high quality company to others that enjoy kayak fishing and fishing in general.

I'll chime in on these rods, going to leave the rest of that alone...

I purchased a custom made Overboard rod over the winter and I plan on putting up a review after a few more trips. I can say for certain that the craftsmanship on my rod is excellent and the customer service has been above and beyond! Plus, it was actually cheaper than the mid range factory rod I was looking at, but built to my specifications. The grips seemed comical at first, but are actually very comfortable and shaped nicely to fit my hands. The front grip will be nice when fighting a large fish as well.

You all know I churn through some gear so having a rod built to the my fishing style seemed like a cheaper option. Mine is 7ft MH Fast with an exposed blank seat (I believe it has a graphite arbor in there to make it more seamless with the grip) and is spiral wrapped. I wanted it for jigging big plastics and it can throw a 10" BKD/Hogy with ease. I'm looking forward to getting it out more over the course of this season and will provide more detail later on.
          Used to fish more.
