Kayak Porn!
Honestly, since my "Kayak" is a canoe, it amazes me how much "stuff" we carry.
I'll add a motor, battery, fish finder, anchor, and probably end up with 100 pounds extra weight.
Aren't you guys concerned about raising the center of gravity, or is it so low that it doesn't really matter?

Depends on what kayak it is and how you do it. Post your rig!!Jason

When you carry a big block of frozen chum, a self contained live well filled with seven gallons of water, you, your rods, reels, tackle, lunch, drinks....yeah, you can add several hundred pounds-"Lady Luck" 2016 Red Hibiscus Hobie Outback, Lowrance Hook2-7TS

Old fishfinder mount:
Wire cap from West Marine, allows my cables to pass thru the hull to reach the FF. When done, I pull the cables back into the hull, only having the plugs exposed at the opening.
For the new FF, I'm using the same base, just with a scotty extender arm to have it closer to me. Since I now have GPS/Chart plotting, I'll probably be pushing buttons more often. (I'm still using the 190c...waiting for Humminbird to release the scupper-transducer for the down imaging)
I've tried this at various angles/heights. I plan to have it to extend & angle it to either side/footwell, just above foot level, if that makes any sense.
Propstick setup for crabbing using my flush mount rod holders...
Aft Rod holders...
The two flush mounts are for storage...
The two scotty bases allow for the attachment of my other rod holders that are used for bottom fishing and trolling. They allow for adjustment to any angle, both vertically & horizontally...

I fished last January with a kayak guide in Florida. They rig their kayaks differently there. I was explaining how I rigged my kayak for use in the Chesapeake. He asked me if I would write up something that he could use in his seminars to describe some of the different rigging methods. I have the write-up in Word format. If anyone wants to see it, send me your email address.John Veil
