super duty kayak cart

Anybody have a DIY link for a really tough kayak cart? I need to assemble one for dragging a kayak through wooded terrain and rough areas...sometimes for a mile or more. Any suggestions are welcome.

I like the steel cart from pkf...looks like it would work great with my hull shape and be study enough for my needs. I think I need to find a taller tire to help with rolling over objects though. Maybe a wheel about 12" in diameter?

You might try Harbor Freight for inexpensive tires.

Unfortunately HF is about an hour away for me. Found some 14" wheels at Lowes for $15 a piece...prolly work out ok and I pass lowes in my travels almost daily. Thanks for the input though!

I don't know how much of a hurry you are in to get the cart together...
Harbor Freight has their 13" wheel for about $17 and shipping isn't too bad.. they are saying
$7 for most orders. The thing about the Harbor Freight wheel is it has metal hub and the axle
diameter is standard 5/8" . I made the PVC that Palmetto describes... took me about an hour
to put together. It's pretty sturdy. Don't forget to adjust your build for the 13" or 14" wheel
as Palmetto is using 10" on his.

Those wheels look great for sand and soggy terrain, but I see them getting hung up on downed limbs etc. where I would be mostly using the cart. I feel I need a larger diameter wheel for that purpose. I could be wrong though as I've never used either wheel.
