Nice, I wish I had one last week when I lost my favorite spinning rod!

You can do the same procedure with very heavy monofiliment (ie 200lb) as well.

Ahhh yes... another good project for next week... and I have red trimmer line
          to match my orange/yellow/red kayak.

          Thanks for the tip !

Some good ideas, but I would make sure that you can readily cut the material if you dump and get tangled up in your leash. I know of one friend that had that exact scenario while fishing up off Cape Cod. The thicker trimmer line and heavier mono can be very difficult to cut. I just use 1/8" bungee cord to make my rod leashes. They cut very easily, but are strong enough to save your rig. Now if I could only get back to using the leashes.

Thanks for sharing a great idea. But frankly, I think I prefer an easier option: stop by a thrift shop and pick up a coiled charger cable for 99 cents.

True but where's the fun in that?

Yeah, I guess you're right. But I already have too much fun making PVC rod holders, yak cart, trough backing, yak bumper guards, tog rigs, camera mounting arms, FF wet well,.............
