Yet another PVC Rod Holder for the front of my kayak...
Was thinking about buying another rod holder.. but well... I've got
the PVC so... (and of course I'm sure it's been done before).
Not sure if I will like it or not as is... so since the fittings are so tight,
I just popped some small screws in to keep it from possibly
falling apart on the trial run.
On the elbows for the holders section... I used the heating up the PVC
in the oven trick, and forced on to the smaller diameter elbow. When
they cool they shrink up making them nice and snug.
For trolling.. if they interfere with my paddle stroke I can just unscrew the
section and make the appropriate adjustments for the next trip.
The middle mount for a casting rod..
And now... for bottom fishing with the other two front poles... I no longer have
to do the "Tom Sawyer" method of holding them with my big toes.
I've got seven rod holders now... I'm running out of rods !
With the shape of the front rod holders in a cross... I've got something
to pray over if a big gnarly storm is on the horizon. Not that I'm a church
going man... but it won't hurt.
