  • Just bought the electric trolling motor, let the fun begin.

Just bought a MinnKota RipTide 45 S for my yak, going to rig it up on the side using a crate to start, although I do like what ArcheryRob did with the transom mount, so I might have to convert to that over the winter.

Don't forget to get your registration. If you apply now, you should get it back by next summer (maybe) to get out to test it.

I have been waiting over 3 months now and have called weekly to check on the status.

    Maryland Government at it best.

When I registered my electric boat, I got my numbers the same day, while I waited. What takes so long?

My first electric motor rig was with a crate. It was a fairly nice rig. However, if you want a quicker set up, go to Island Hoppers: http://www.islandhopperoutboards.com...sic-model.html . They have mounts that goes into the built in rod holders. That was my second rig.

Hey, when I went to copy the site address, I noticed Island Hoppers now makes a new electric motor and mount. Looks nice.

By the way, congats on going electric. It is a nice way to troll.

I don't know what you did but I just walked into the DNR and was out in 20 minutes ......... Md does a great job ...... I usually go to Belair

Be careful mounting it to a crate ........ I'm not sure you can close enough to the side and that's a lot of weight to be tied to a crate .......... I agree with Don ...... Island hoppers makes a great mount.

Thanks for the input, I'm thinking about ordering the Island Hopper mount.

I should have done the walk in. I made the mistake of mailing mine in.

They are saying they are swamped with all the data entry help from the MSP (gun purchase applications).

I mail my registrations to Cumberland and get them back in a week and a half when ever I have done it. The girl out there is really easy to deal with too. Picture of the front down one side and the back down the other side. Send a picture of the boat ID or a tracing or both.
