  • Fishing Organizer

So our house is on the market and we needed to organize the garage, especially the amount of fishing gear that I have. We had some fence materials laying around so of course I started thinking of how I could use this to my advantage. After getting some crazy looks from my wife here is my finished project:

Her crazy looks turned into the 'oh yeah, that does work pretty well....'

Good job. I like having all my rods and tackle in one place (for me that is one wall on my half of the garage). Being able to store things in an organized fashion makes it much easier to choose the specific gear for each trip.

            beerums,

Nice job on the rod storage.

I also store my fishing items in the garage.

I made a rod holder out of bungee cords and eye hooks for the rods I use most often during the season. After the fishing season ends I place the rods in their socks and store them in PVC tubes. The arrangement below allows me quick access to the ones I want to use on a given outing.

I use an old kitchen cabinet to hold my tackle boxes and other items I may carry on a trip.

I use the plastic tool boxes under the cabinet to store my various reels and the lines used on them. One box contains fly reels and the other contains spinning and bait cast reels. The trays in each tool box are good for storing spare spools, spare reel parts, lubricants, etc.

Lastly, I keep a checklist of items I require on a kayak trip hanging from the cabinet. I haven't forgotten anything since early this year on a trip to Jonas when I left my paddle in the garage. That was before I made the list.

It does help to be organized in this hobby because there is so much "stuff" we use and it would be easy to misplace or forget something essential.
