So after spending my year in a Field and Stream Eagle Talon 12, I decided I needed an upgrade for the 2014 season ahead. After looking around everywhere I FINALLY found the grandslam on amazon. Not to thrilled about ordering a kayak off amazon but, it made it ok. At 14.5 feet this will be my big water boat. now to rig it out!

Congrats! Did you build your kayak stand? I'm thinking about buying a second kayak today and will have to build something this weekend.

Thanks, and yes I built the kayak stand last weekend. It is made from a couple 2x6 pieces of wood. The kayak is supported by 200lb capacity shelf brackets with PVC screwed onto the bracket then covered by a pool noodle to give it support.

Ok, so I've had my Emotion Grand Slam a few months now and I have to say I've been pretty pleased with it thus far. Unfortunately I have no cold weather gear so I've only been out on it 2 times at my local lake (Clopper Lake). At 14.5ft it tracks like a dream, and with a large bow it cuts through the water with ease. So far it has been great! Now onto what I have changed, I have added two scotty rocket launcher rod holders with #344 bases. Also I have added an anchor trolley and milk crate. The milk crate has a triple rod holder (zipped tied) and a plexiglass cover to keep contents inside incase of turtle. Yet to be installed is a gear track to the top of the crate to mount a camera/light pole. I also plan to upgrade my Crack of Dawn Explorer seat with there spider seat. Other then that I plan on keeping this kayak pretty bare with all fishing accessories removable to keep weight down incase I want to spend a day touring. Cant wait for it to warm up and get back out on the water!

It's a nice boat but it is too clean.
