I have one of these and I seriously can't remember the last time I charged it. To my knowledge I've only charged it 2 times in a year and I use it a lot, sometimes 8hrs straight. I guess my 5" grey screen doesn't pull that much, but it's pretty awesome to just grab the box and go. I'm going to hook a light up to it and fully charge it before I get back to fishing more than a couple times a month. I'm in the process of patching my depthfinder up right now, no need for a new one if I can fix the screen!
