Native Mariner Tandem

When rigging my kayak this off-season, I added sideboards so I could mount rod holders, etc. without putting a bunch of holes in the boat. Somewhere in the process, I thought it would be worth using the RAM mounting balls and straight connectors to make two kayaks into a tandem. I have fished with the tandem a few times this year and have also taken my wife on some sight-seeing trips and am happy with the performance of the tandem. I would not take this in the open bay because I don't think it would handle really rough water, but it handles boat wakes fine. Note that the boats can be connected or disconnected at any time so if it gets too rough just disconnect and go solo.

Very creative -- you made a Mariner catamaran. And with twin props, you could probably turn on a dime.
