    Hello,
I'm thinking about purchasing a second Fishin' Yak. Any one have opinions on the Malibu Stealth 14 or Native Manta Ray 14.

    Thanks.

Don't have an opionion on either of those kayaks but I can tell you what happened after I decided to buy another kayak besides my Hobie Revo. I bought an Ocean Kayak prowler, it sits in the garage except when I am taking someone out who doesn't have there own kayak. I enjoy fishing in the Revolution, hard to beat it.

Depends on what you're looking to do I would say. It will be hard to beat the Hobie, but there are some advantages to the others. The Manta has a very comfortable seat, similar to a redfish but way more padding. I hear it's pretty quick but tippy. The stealth is a beast! Livewell between your legs seems really awesome, platform to stand and fly cast on, clear deck, lots of rod holders and other fishing features, but slower. If I was going to be fishing flats and not covering vast amounts of distance a stealth or ride 135 would be the pick for me. Since I'm not doing that kind of fishing, I sold my ride and I'm getting a Revo!!! I'm keeping my trident 13 though, it's a great all around boat and very comfortable for me. Tell us more about what you're planning on doing and hopefully we can help. Welcome!

I haven't tried either of those kayaks, but I used to have a Manta Ray 12. I ended up selling it because I couldn't keep it going in a straight line. I thought its turning ability would be handy on smallmouth floats, but fishing and floating was impossible because it spun like helicopter blade as I went down the river. If hull of the 14 is shaped like hull of the 12 (not much keel), I would be sure to give it a good test paddle first, especially if you plan on doing a lot of open water paddling. The bow of the 12 also pushed a lot of water. The plus side of the Manta Rays is that there are lots of flat areas for mounting things.
