  • Blue Angels in Baltimore

I am debating on trying to watch the Blue Angels from my Kayak this weekend. Does anyone know where the area is to watch from a boat or interested in going out to watch them?

This link will give you the official safety zones. I don't know the area so I don't know where to go or launch from. I imagine though that there may be a lot of power boats out there. Let's hope they don't drink too much and drive too fast. At least it's all during daylight.

    Have fun.

if you can find a launch spot near harbor hospital, you will be in a great spot for the show. Not too much boat traffic in that area.

I plan on launching at Canton Water Park on Boston St. I did this a few years ago with my nephew for Sailabration. We were able to paddle right up to the tall ships in the harbor and even tied up in Fells Point for a few beers. The exclusion zone appears to be from Ft. McHenry out into the Patapsco River ie. to the left of the Boston St. launch. The harbor is to the right and appears to be open.

It looks like I am going to try and go today to miss the crowds on Saturday. I have seen them practice before and it was almost as good as the show. I am aiming to use the launch right by the hospital. Going to get there at 11:00 and will be in a yellow Tarpon 120.
