  • Newbie To Kayaking

    Hey All,
I just recently purchased a Hobie Kayak Quest. I purchased it so I can join my dad when he goes out. But I don't always want to go out with him. I would love to join fellow enthusiasts. I'm pretty new to the sport/hobby, and would love to learn more about it. I currently reside in Brookeville, MD which is Montgomery County. I just purchased the kayak so I have yet to put it into the water. If you're interested let me know! Would love to hear from all!

          Hey Guys!
Absolutely...I'm a native MDer...just moved back up here from FL..Don't ask me why I never took advantage of "yaking" down there, but I didnt. I can't wait to get my new beauty this week! I'll let you all know when I'm good to go. As long as this weather holds...lets do it! Again..thanks for responding! Maybe we can try to meet up every other Saturday or something. Make it like an official club lol

                I'm Close to You.

I live in Clarksville, MD and fish Triadelphia and Rocky Gorge reservoirs. This summer I'll be hitting the upper Potomac looking for smallies!

I have a good little drift on the upper Potomac I do a few times a year. Drive to Point of Rocks and drop off a vehicle or two, then drive up to Brunswick with all the boats and put in there. Drift down and catch smallies all day. Typical day is 30-50 fish. Most are small but it's still fun as hell.

I plan on doing something like that later this year, going from dragons bend down to brunswick family campground camping along the river 1 night. From what I have been told its a lot of fun.

I've never camped there, but I hear that the train yard makes a lot of noise. A wonderful place to fish, just don't expect to get much sleep!

I'll be fishing up that way once the river calms down for the summer.
