Hmm. The rules linked from the registration page are from last year. The "Individual" categories conditions specify that you need to be a CCA member before September 7th 2013. Google reveals that the 7th was the first day of the tournament last year. So presumably the cut off this year is the 20th.

I don't know if it was stated in the rules page, but I received an email saying that fishing will be extended until 5:00 PM on Saturday and 1:00 PM on Sunday.

Here is the email Tony sent to registered members:

Folks,

Just wanted to remind everyone that Red Trout 2014 is only a few weeks away. We had a great time last year. While fishing hasn’t been as good this year, specs and reds are still being caught. This is anyone’s tournament. Fishing time has been extended to 5PM on Saturday. We’ll all get together at the same location on Saturday night(Crab House). CCA will have giveaways and raffles that evening. We’ll close check in at 1PM on Sunday and have the awards ceremony at the Crab House immediately following the judging. Just note that Captain Tyler’s Crab House has been renamed to Chesapeake Crab House and Tiki Bar. This year is shaping up to be even better. Now is the time to register!

Does anyone know if presence at Captain Tyler's Crab House the morning of the event required? Or can you phone the whole thing in?

Nothing happens the the morning of the event. You are not required to call or be present either morning. Email your photos in by 5:00PM on Saturday and 1:00PM on Sunday. The awards ceremony will be on Sunday at 1:00.

I found a bunch of blues, small stripers and yeah, some small trout around the island today. Nothing to win a tournament though. I'll probably fish here anyway tomorrow.

Never seen anything like it. Did you get a picture of the whole fish?

It slipped out of the hog trough before I could snap a pic. Longish, gray, no markings. Scary!
