[QUOTE=Cowpokey;97033]Wind is supposed to be out of the north at 7 mph gusting to 10 at 8am, and the wind today has been blowing pretty good. Maybe we should go to Jonas Green? ]

I'm going to launch from usna. Still looking for a keeper out in the mouth there. I went Saturday and it was a bit windy for my taste + boat traffic, so I reckon tomorrow ought to be decent.

I've got a place at the mouth of the Severn I want to try. If we go to Jonas Green, we'll probably see you out there. What time are you going to launch?

I talked to SHH, he still wants to try the bridge, so we'll see what it looks like in the morning. If it's rough we'll go to Jonas Green.

Its 7 mph, so I think it's doable at the bridge

Had one 15" rockfish on a rattle trap at about 7:40 in about 9' of water. Didn't catch anything else though, I was surprised I didn't even get any of my plastics torn up. This is the second trip in a row, the blue fish haven't appeared to mess with any of my lures. How did you guys manage? It seemed like the wind was picking up a bit.

                Very slow...

I got one spot early, live lined it at 15 or so bridge pilings and not a bite. Now I've been trolling for over an hour and not a bite either.

We're headed to the rock pile to try jigging.

SHH got one short Striper early and a couple perch.

I'm wondering if the cold front that came thru overnight shut things down a bit. Air temp is 12* cooler now than the same time yesterday and water temp dropped 2 degrees. Also the water was a good foot or more lower at high tide this morning compared to yesterday. For the record, I was on breaking fish south of SPSP yesterday with bigger northern winds and not much happening today. Casting to shallow structure produced a few short bass and that was it for me this morning.

We're calling it a day, and blaming it on the weather front moving through...

On the fly and TXfly16 joined me on my center console this morning. We saw Cowpokey and SHH on the way out of Sandy Point at 7:30. I think we saw Jman on the way back in at 12:15. The modest waves at the bridge turned into 3 ft waves several miles south. However, we found fish. In 4 hours of fishing we caught over 100 blues and stripers. That is the advantage of being able to travel longer distances in a power boat. A more detailed report is on the General forum.

Dang, you said it was small, I though you were joking about it being so tiny. LOL

Good seeing you power boat fellas this morning, glad you found some fish. How deep was it where you were catching them, and what did you catch them on?

I tried all of my normal tricks and the only thing I managed was the one spot. I had quite a few more bites while bottom fishing but couldn't seem to get them on the hook. I may need to replace the hooks on my high-low rig they are getting rusty and probably causing the fish to not get hooked. I still think the weather front moving through had something to do with our lack of success at the bridge...a poor excuse is better than no excuse.

Edit: Never mind, I saw your report.
