  • Odd question...Using the head while fishing in waders...

I noticed tog fishing last year in my waders and dry top that it SUCKS when you have to relieve yourself, especially when you're in a decent 2'-3' and it is a good 30ish min pedal/paddle in to the beach. My first reaction was to try standing...almost fell out due to the chop. I'm guessing the final verdict will just be to hold it or get brave and stand but figured it was worth a shot to see if there were any tricks or assistance objects, just sounds funny typing it Thanks!

    two ways to "GO" here

    1. a dry suit with a relief zipper

    example: http://www.nrs.com/product/22512/nrs...?p=Q_I&w=22512

    2. dry pants mated with your drytop (makes it a little easier to pull off that on the water relief)

    example: http://www.nrs.com/product/25051/kok...nts-with-socks

do not forget to bring the appropriate sized Gatorade bottle!

Some manufacturers make waders with a zipper in the front. I have a pair for trout fishing and have waded past the bottom of the zipper without any leaks. Very quick and easy to undo and relieve yourself. There are also waste high waders you can purchase. I use the ones from Cabelas and these are easily manageable as well.

If your fishing at chsp, just jump up on one of the walls and go. I've done that a few times...

Im with Memory Maker. I have not done this yet, but now that I have a drysuit and will be fishing in it, I will be using.......oh ..... it's hard to say..........depends. I do not want to ruin the suit, and I've talked to many people I've fished with here on Snaggedline who admit it on the side and not in an audience that they use depends, and it sounds like a tolerable solution.

Adult "depends" -if you're too buttoned up to get your suit off. (actually never done that but thought of it) I try to not drink to much first of all, otherwise I resort to the use of a pool noodle and a scupper hole.

                    Pee Bottle for the win.....

Used to use them Winter Camping...last thing you wanna do when it's 5 degrees is get out of your sleeping bag. We had a nalgene that was wrapped w/ special tape & stickers so it never got mistaken for a drinking bottle.

Not and odd question, just one that no one talks about much. Being and older fisherman, this topic appears more often then the younger fisherman. I've got uninsulated waist high waders from LL Bean with neoprene feet. Easy on easy off. Also make sure you got some sort of container. As far as Shady is concerned, practice makes perfect.

Doesn't the pool noodle absorb the pee? Btw, I always have a cutoff powerade bottle which serves many purposes...

Paddle/pedal to shore. Take a stretch break while you're at it. Hobies have a built in urinal in the mirage drive hole which is nice

Some great suggestions! When in shorts or sun pants I use the drive well quite often. I would love to get a dry suit, but just not quite in the cards now. The on-the-go-go looks interesting...you'd have to get creative with your waders since you would need to cut them.
