  • Kayak Fishing guides for vets needed 10/18

I thought I would post this here in hopes of getting some volunteers to help Keith and HOW out on Saturday ..
You do not need to be an expert just a "fishing Buddy".

Subject: Volunteers needed as fishing guides

    All,

It appears as of right now that we have maxed out our last event with Veterans and Family members. At this point, I only have one volunteer as a fishing guide, and we are going to need more. If you are able come and help out, please sign up for us ASAP at the link below. It would also be great to get a few extra kayaks that could be used for the Veterans. I believe we have enough, but I would rather have extra than be short. If you are worried about leaving them at the ramp if we dont use them, we can always lock them in the trailer, but there should be people on land the whole time as well. If you dont think you can come to help, but might know someone who would like to, please pass this along to them as well. Call Keith if you have any questions or concerns.

Here's a shot of one of the 25+ fish I caught on Wed last week when I scouted the area launching out of Romancoke.

I might be able to get out there Saturday. I am moving starting tomorrow, so I will have to see how far along I am Friday evening.

      Thanks

Thanks Travis, we can use all the help we can get, especially if it is a bit windy...any others? Bueler? Bueler?....Keith fished here last week and had several keepers, so we hope to have similar success.

Anyone helping or fishing on the 18th with HOW has the launch fee waived by Queen Anne County for that day.

I really want to help, just not sure how my current setup will perform in those waters? D10t ascend, facing a little current and some wind feels like treading water just ain't built for that. Could bring my wife's perception sport. Both are 10ft.

What do ya think? Told a buddy, and sounded like he wanted to come too, but that means I'd have to use the d10t.

I let HOW know and they should respond to you via this thread. However, even if you believe the water is too windy for you they can always use help at the launch site.

Would love to help, but it's Cowkid1's 16th birthday...should stay home, I think.

Thanks for all the support guys. Yakie, the wind is supposed to be out of the west, so we will hopefully be protected by the island and keep closer to the shore. Like Harry said, we could always use help on land too if you don't feel comfortable going out on the water. We will need help with setting up for lunch and such. If you want to help for either, we would like everyone to sign up so we know who is coming.

                    Thanks,

Glad you had a good morning, and a good rock! I am sorry I could not make this one but glad there are people like yourself who support the cause.
