  • The Fisherman's Ocean - book

Has anyone ever read a book entitled "The Fisherman's Ocean"? It looks interesting. I've been looking for a book like this; more of a broad based knowledge book about currents, structure, water temps, fish senses, migrations, etc. it's written by an oceanographer who is also an avid salt water fly fisherman.

Here is a link to a Google books preview:

I have that book and really enjoyed the read. Its a little technical in some parts but it gives some interesting perspectives.

Thanks Romo. It seems that almost all fishing books take a micro approach; target species, baits, 'lures, presentations, and so forth. I want a book(s) that focuses more on a macro approach; habitats, migration patterns, light,'depths, bottom characteristics, currents, seasonal trends and so on.

I am sure they'll be overlaps on the two different approaches. However if you're fishing for any type of specie in any body of water, it's good to have baseline information and techniques on how to read habitats.
