I think they are... Surfdog posted yesterday that he was going out with a couple of people. I'm planning on going out myself. Taking the outback on the bay for the first time.

Dang, too bad it was so slow. I've been out of chessy beach since 7, fished 22 to 38 feet And not a single hit. Anyone else out ?

yeah, too bad i didnt know you were coming over this way i would have gone to CB. the mouth of the severn was smooth as glass this morning and very little wind or current moving, no fish biting either except some little wp. now is the time that the red worms hatch and every thing is feeding on them. the hatch should be over after next week i hope. got another spot mixed in with the wps thats a good sign of things to come

I shoulda posted! It was sort of a last second decision, didn't think I would wake up like I did on time. Glad you got some white perch and that spot, you think he is an early arrival or holdover from last year? I had not heard of the worm hatch until you mentioned it, hope it ends and the rain stops.

I got skunked, not a single bite or lost bait even. It was flat calm, but the current was ripping good. Hit the rockwall with a bucktail for a few minutes before I made my way 6 miles out, trolling along the way and soaking fishbites/raw shrimp at different depth changes and bottom marks on the finder. Anchored and drifted. Fished everything from 12 feet to 45 feet, even fished in the middle of a cluster of crab pots which I had read as a tip in a past DNR report since they are often baited with razor clams which croaker love. Loving the turbo fins, did a total of 12.26 miles pedaling(plus .87 sailing) I am going to get the hobie compass that installs into the lid of the front hatch facing forward.. Did a lot of accidental zigzagging when I got into the open waters with no land marks. Also need to get a power pack for the iphone, the first half of the trip was enough to get the phone down to 15% and I had to shut it off for most of the rest, thats why it filled in the spaces with a straight yellow line for the return trip.

Also, sailing rules! Used a giant golf umbrella to sail north from the radar towers back to Chesapeake Beach at 1.9-2.9 knots
