  • Current rockfish pattern

With the wealth of experience and knowledge here... How long will the rockfish be in the rivers allbeit 40 to 50ft deep. Out Sunday on the Patapsco River temps were 47* +or- the class of fish seem to be @ 22" to 25" on average. Will they at some point as temps drop move out of the rivers in to the bay out of reach in a kayak. At what point temp wise will they shut down...they are pretty aggressive it seems right now. How long will the current pattern last??? Thanks in advance for your input.

They will stay in some places all winter but it is only catch and return after Dec. .......... they usually stay @ mouth of the Patapsco and power plant outlets ........ any place the temps are a little warmer. They catch monsters off the mouth of the Potomac all winter ........ little known secret.

Would you care to share a bit more info??? Where is the warm water that time of year?. Deep or shallows?? Incoming or outgoing tide?? The Potomac mouth is pretty big place to be paddleing around searching without having a few destinations to start searching
