February meet and greet saturday 2/21/2015

Everyone cross your fingers and do some praying!! Looks like a cold front will be pushing through next week. Icing is going to be hard to predict, borderline freezing temps during the day but plenty of sunshine. I will be giving updates later next week. If icing occurs I will make the Final decision Friday the 20th. This is a tough M&G to predict...thank you all for your patience and keep an eye on the thread. If the event is cancelled we will also cancel lunch since most members do not live close to the upper bay.

Hope the weather forecast is wrong, Highs around freezing all week with lows in the low teen. Lets see what happens. Come on Spring.

I can't speak for everyone but personally I was using plain #4 bait hooks for the artificial curly tails I started with and then for the minnows once Ryan so graciously dispersed his remaining stash after he limited out.

I was using shad darts and #8 gold long shank hooks. Both worked

Between now and next Saturday, the forecast has it staying below freezing with several nights in the single digits. I have a really hard time believing that there is going to be open water for kayak fishing. How seriously would you all consider ice fishing? I've never done it before, but may be interested in giving it a go if we had a group out there. Do you think the ice would be thick enough to do this?
