FYI, its a $20 fee to use camp grounds now and they are proposing raising it to $40 a night now. Also adding a $30 per year access fee to use the canal now. Public meetings are being held over it now.

Only campsites that charges $20 are the "group" campsites such as McCoy's Ferry, 15 Mile Creek, Paw Paw Tunnel, and Spring Gap. All other campsites are free.

Here is a Land Surveyors response to working with Lat & Longs: Make sure you know what format of Lat/Long you are working with...You may have received Lat/Longs in Degrees, Minutes & Seconds OR Degrees & Decimal of Degrees...You also need to make sure what format Google maps or other system is asking for. By simply looking at the Lat/Long info there is really no way to be sure...true Lat/Long in Deg, Min & Sec should look like this N. 39 09' 29" W 76 59' 05" however someone may have posted it as N. 39.0929 W 76.5905 which really would be Decimal of Degrees. Also if someone is recording info in Decimal/Degrees THEN POSTING as N. 39 09' 29" W 76 59' 05" that will really screw things up. FYI, in this area, ONE SECOND of degree is roughly equal to 100 feet...a circle with a 100 foot radius is going to give you an area of roughly 3/4 acre...so if someone provides you w a Lat/Long for some Fishing Structure and doesnt take it out enough decimal places you have an idea of how much area you will need to cover to find it (just a fun fact). :-)
