Snakehead is tasty, I prefer to filet them, remove the skin, then blackened Cajun style. I just do not like skin or bones when eating fish.

      Cool kid!

Bruce, some of the best flavors are in the skin and bones! But I totally get the convenience factor of not having them there when you eat. Depending on how I'm cooking the fish I also skin and remove the bones sometimes.

I like to steak the small SH like the video. That's how Vietnamese people cook SH. I prefer to release the big one, I want to beat that 17 lbs 6 oz record. I got close last year.

Why next year? You can start in a month and half if you know where to go

Bugger.....you're right......gotta stop livin in the past (2014) 😊 , I don't know where to go besides the Potomac....and that's all I know. Never fished there, this will be my rookie season since I started late last year.....but I only want to fish for Lg bass and snakeheads. This year.

I do have to say snakehead is a target fish of mine for this year. I hear Mattawoman is the place to be for them. Spring just cant come fast enough.

Been skunked at mattawoman twice.....but have been working in my game plan....I've never been past that first tributary to the left (when launching from the mattingly park launch. Kayak was a main contributor IMO. But now I've got my slayer, should be much easier to cover ground...the ascend d10t was like treading water.

Anybody ever punch the mats there with success?

I only fish on the VA side, so I can't comment on Mattawoman. It's the starting site so it can't be bad but that's just my opinion. My current record is 14.5 lbs, I want to beat that this year. Anything around 18 lbs is good

I and Turk_on_a_tarpon usually go on Thurs & Friday evening. You're welcome to join us. I go at the last minutes all the time if the weather is nice. We can also plan on other days but I usually start late and fish till sunset
