Just got a custom 8wt back from Steve Fogle, Backyard Custom Rods, last Friday. Been so busy I haven't had time to cast it yet, but I'm quite sure there will be no disappointment. Blank is a St Croix SCV with titanium ceramic guides all the way, and a RUC reel seat. You can't buy a fly rod this nice for anywhere close to what Steve charges to make one. I highly recommend him for those interested.
He also makes very nice conventional rods as well, I have one of those too
