the mother ship will transport the kayaks to the fishing area, about 3 hour trip by boat each way. They are recommending a minimum of 50-80 lb gear with 100 lb shock leader. Plus a HD rod leash. I guess I need to add this to my bucket list just so I can scratch it off.

I'd recommend one of these too, that's an Edge World Gimble. They are perfect for pulling in big fish from a kayak. Caught sharks with and without one, never again without.

The Seabass trip looks fun as well. I'll personally have to wait until next year, all my charters are all ready booked on big boats. Good luck and post pictures!

I'm VERY INTERESTED! !! This has been on my bucket list for a while. Would a Hobie PA 14ft be too much regards to weight or do I have to use the Ocean Trident 13.6??? Do they supply the gear for rental other than bait. When do u need the deposit??

I would think the OK Trident 13 would be more manageable, but you should talk to Chris at DPS. Their number is 302-645-7300. Chris did not ask for a deposit but I am sure once he has 6 signed up he will contact us for the deposits.

Check out the DPS Facebook page, they have a few flyers floating around that show the different trips that Fish Whisperer is participating in. They requirements for the boat is a minimum of 12' - 6" I believe.

Could someone put a link to that info? I tried looking at the FB page and wasn't able to find the trips or info...maybe I wasn't on the correct page.

I can't resist, I'm booking. Also to clarify, they are doing tuna trips through the second week in August, not just July.

Yeah.... ...that cuts me out. My OK Torque is 13'10".

Probably just as well... the wife thinks the trip is dangerous and risky.
