I do appreciate all of the friendly MK welcoming sentiments. Based on just a few days of reading posts here, MK sounds like a more intimate and friendly group of guys than Tidalfish has become. I look forward to meeting many of you.
I abandoned the kayak fishing world today and took my brother from PA fishing on my Scout 162 Sportfish (the "Small but Perky") -- it is a great fishing platform for 1 or 2 anglers. We bottom fished at Hacketts, Tollys, and Thomas Pt. We caught countless small perch, more than a dozen spot (there is a school of spot located about 50 yds due east of Thomas Pt light -- we caught some on every drift through the zone), and a few small stripers. While he is visiting, I will keep the kayak high and dry, but I hope to get back out under paddle power next week. My semi-retirement and flexible consulting practice allow for frequent fishing opportunities.
