Mayo Beach Park is the WONDERFUL venue for the April Anne Arundel Public Water Access Committee Meeting on Wednesday April 22 2015. Explore the normally "closed" Mayo Beach Park before the Water Access Committee meeting. Mayo Beach will open at 5 pm so you can explore *your* public park. The WAC meeting starts at 6 pm.
You may have paddled past Mayo Beach after launching from Beverly-Triton Beach Park and not realized that it was a public park.

This lovely county-owned public park is rarely open to the general public. Mayo Beach has wide sand beaches, a bath house, a playground, a softball field, parking for hundreds of cars and a pavilion that is usually rented out for weddings.

The April agenda includes a presentation on possible public access at the Cox Creek Dredge Material/Swan Creek Wetlands in Glen Burnie, an update on Greenbury Point, "where we go next" on boat ramps and an update on 2015 plans by Recreation & Parks.
Directions: Take Route 2 south of Annapolis. Cross the South River. Turn left/east on Central Avenue/MD214. Make a left at Lou's Stop Shop onto Shoreham Beach Road. *If you miss this left turn you will miss the park.* Make a left at the next Y intersection. Follow the small Mayo Beach Park signs to the park entrance and go up the road to the pavilion.
This meeting location may be a one-shot deal so please come to Mayo Beach and see what we've all been missing. In June we're back in the DPW building in Millersville.
