  • So stupid

Psyched and pumped for an absolute gorgeous day of fishing, I gathered my gear last night. Not only was this opening day for trophy rockfish, but it would be my 1st day out for the year. This morning I loaded up the Jeep and proceeded to remove the tarp from the kayak. That's when it hit me...

    d'Oh!

That glaring orange 2014, staring me in the face.
    I hadn't renewed my registration.

Guess I'll spend the day getting the walk around fired up. If I'm lucky I'll take her out.

I know the feeling... I drove 20 min this morning before I remembered that I didn't have my pfd or paddle.

I've done the same, leaving the paddle at home. D'oh!

That's what I ended up doing. But I probably should have picked an alternate location. It was quite a paddle out, and then the downstrem leg of my troll was into a stiff breeze. Saw a few on the FF, but they didn't bite.

          Damon good workout though.

If I had a dime for every stupid thing I've done over the last year since I started kayak fishing....
