  • Kayak Ready for Mainden Voyage

Well, I finally got the basics of my new Hobie Revo put together. The main thing was to unpack it from all of the wrappings that it was incased in when I bought it in January. I have been using my Tarpon up until now. Now, with my new fish finder installed on the Revo, I will be using it this weekend for the first time. I also got my new rod holders installed....thanks John F. Here are a few pictures of the Kayak out fitted. There are a few more things that I need to do to it, but that will come later, over the next few weeks. There are also pics of the battery and transducer installation using duct seal. I plan on adding some water to the duct seal well since I heard that was fairly reliable for sonar readings and you avoid the air bubble issues.

Yes they did. I used your 1/2 inch fitting for the battery box and I bought a 1 inch fitting online for the Fish Finder wires. I still have more mods to make, but I want to take the kayak out a couple of times to decide on how I want to mount any extra accessories.....

Thanks Rick, at least it does not use the Ferrari gas. As for my FF, it is a HUMMINBIRD 597CI HD COMBO SONAR/GPS. The battery box I built form scratch using a waterproof plastic case.

I did this as well for a Humminbird 798ci with side imaging. Don't let 'em tell ya side imaging won't work through the hull. The sonar signal goes right through and works great!
