i have the pleasure of watching my grandson today. He is 5 and enjoys fishing the lake with me and I enjoy letting him reel the fish in. After several futile casts on my part I cast and handed the rod to him to let him work the lure. Wouldn't you know it, he brought in a nice crappie. Ten fish later I realized his herky jerky lift, drop and reel "method" was what the fish wanted. Lesson learned to change things up when your main method isn't working.
