Let's not forget that encouraged catching and releasing of big breeding stripers....catch and release citation for those. Hogan's the man.

Tickets for expired licenses will cover lost revenue...better set an alarm for the date it's due for renewal.

I got stopped by the DNR when I went out on Friday, I told him I was laying bed the night before and realized my license was expired and quickly bought one online. I forgot that they where a fiscal year type license not a year from date of purchase like In VA. He told they where thinking about changing it, I guess they really where. I'm glad to hear this. It just makes more sense.

Probably not any cheaper for most of us. If anything, it could technically cost more overall per day if you renew the license before it expires annually. Granted at $20-30 per year for the license it wont be noticeable, but the perceived benefit isn't really there for anyone that fishes regularly.
