  • Kayak covers

For those storing their kayaks outside what kind over covers do you use? Looking at the danuu covers. Their not cheap but neither are our kayaks.

I heard tarps were bad to keep on them as they trap too much heato something

Perhaps use a two by four as a tent ridge for the tarp to allow air to circulate underneath while blocking the sun and rain?

The heavy duty tarps from walmart are what I use.

I've been leaving mine outside all year round for many years and haven't ever bothered to cover it. I do have it on an elevated stand to keep the creepy crawlers getting into it to a minimum and the spot I store it at is shaded for most of the day though.

But I'm also still using a kayak I got second hand for cheap, and I abuse it to hell when fishing, so a cover wouldn't protect much on mine anyways
