  • Freshwater drum?

I took a quick fishing trip this afternoon to the lower gunpowder. I was primarily looking for a few bass. I caught a couple and lost a couple. With the somewhat cloudy water the bite was pretty slow. I came across a mulberry tree with a big school of carp hanging out below munching on berries as they fell out of the tree. I couldn't resist the temptation...

They aren't quite as tough as a red, but a fun fish to catch when the bassin' is slow

You kinda have to hook the mulberries through the stem. The unripe berries also work to hold the ripe ones on your hook. Whoever posted the tip about mulberries earlier this year, thanks!

Good catch and nice photos. I like your "live bait" shot.

Good stuff, man. The bait shot made me laugh. That's a first.

Very interesting. Never would have thought of berries. I have seen people use corn kernels.
