  • ContourGPS Test vid

I got my new camera yesterday, so I had to try it out this morning. I made a vid showing my drive to the train station. I am pretty pleased with the outcome thus far. My wife ordered me a waterproof case and a 32gig memory card for Father's Day. This was filmed at 720p, 60fps. It can do full 1080, but honestly, most of my vids are gonna be for web viewing, so most of my vids will probably be at 720P 30fps for smaller file sizes, and faster uploads.

Looking good, Metro- My GoPro Hero is due in the 20th of June...then I got to figure out what I want to do with it- Probably will need some adult supervision and assistance- I like what Mytmouse does with his videos- maybe he can show me how he does it?

I have used some of the Adobe software. They are nice, with the layering and somewhat easy to use. I have thought about the video thing myself. I generally don't even think about snapshots. I'm generally so busy catching fish!

Yeah, but I have all Apple products Mytmouse, so I'll have to get used to that version....never have done any video not even cell phone video, just stills- but that isn't going to stop me- I love what we can do to promote Maryland Kayak fishing- Mallow Bay is one place I want to try soon- the old ships graveyard is supposed to be the largest wooden ships graveyards anywhere. Fishing among the old hulls for snakeheads and bass should be a nice piece of "eye candy."

Dogfish- I usually miss 99% of the opportunity to take pictures, too. I like to catch fish as much as anyone- that said- I think if we deliberately set out to make a semi-professional YouTube fishing video promoting one of our M&G events, much like Mytmouse/Metro were doing at PLO before the storm kicked in...with fish catching footage, it could be a powerful tool for recruiting new members- although it looks like the sport in our region has taken off anyway.

Metro, your new toy does an excellent job, can't wait for some on the water vids. I hope you're on the list for priority parking in your complex. that's a helluva walk to your car every morning.

Yeah ....... that's the problem w/pic/vid ........ yu've missed some of the action by the time you turn it on ......... Checkout the VIO POV ....... you can record continuously and push a button on the remote wrist band and it will preserve the preceeding period of time you previously chose so you don't miss anything and don't have to search 5 hrs of video. Little pricey by comparison but better features .......... sound isn't as goo though .......

Nice, I want one but I don't have an extra $400 to blow at the moment. If I got one though I'd probably go with the ContourHD, waterproof case, 32gb card + headstrap mount. My fish finder already has a GPS in it so I have that covered..

$249 + some elastic strap and a sewing needle and your dignity = this

I still have 20 yards of straping. You will need to provide the rest.
