Maine Kayak Fishing

Anyone ever fished around the islands off Portland, Maine? I'm going to be on Long Island off Portland for a week this month and trying to determine if I should bring my yak gear or just fish from the shore.

there is a youtube video or two of guys fishing portland harbor. if yougot into mackerel you'd have some awesome eating
