  • Tridelphia

Taken from MD DNR fishing report overview July 8, 2015:

Anyone who enjoys fishing Triadelphia Reservoir will be in for a disappointment next spring. The WSSC must make repairs to the dam beginning in the early spring of 2016 and will have to draw the reservoir down by 33%. There will be no angler access allowed to Triadelphia Reservoir for the estimated 2 years that it will take to complete the project. The draw down may very well have impacts on the Patuxent tailwater during trout season also.

Saw this. WSSC is compensating for boaters keeping their boats moored at Triadelphia by opening new mooring stakes at Rocky Gorge at Supplee Lane. Rocky Gorge is about to see a new level of fishing pressure

What does everyone think is gonna happen to the fish there? Is there gonna be a big fish kill? I've also heard the big fish are gonna get much bigger because of the draw down

They used to draw down St Mary's lake in the winters. Fishing suffered because it would kill off all the grass and lily pads in the shallows. In the last few years they have stopped that practice and fishing is improving. Those big fish need baitfish to grow and baitfish need cover. Hope it doesn't affect Tridelphia but I don't think it will create monster fish.

Man, I bet one could "harvest" a whole lot of lures and sinkers if they really do a 33% draw down.

I wonder what the fine for trespassing is?

Whenever these WSSC lakes get drawn down, some areas get really muddy... to the point where you'll lose your sandals trying to wade in knee deep muck. Not worth it getting stuck in quicksand mud for some rusted lures IMO lol
