OBX Vacation Videos ( Shark & Cobia)

Just got back from the OBX yesterday. Took the kayak down, but ended up not even taking it out as we were having too much fun surf/pier fishing. Did okay, caught flounder, nice blues, whiting, croaker, spot, skates, one atlantic ray, another HUGE ray, a cobia, and a shark. Got the cobia and shark on video. I know I like hearing how snaggedliners do when they go down to the OBX so I thought I'd share

Nice! Avon is one of my favorite spots down there. But we were actually fishing up in Corolla. The first 4 days we fished down in Nags head off the pier and it was decent. But when we started fishing in the surf right in front of our house the fishing got awesome. Huge schools of menhaden were being pushed right up against the beach. Pops was catching nice blues right in the wash.

Thats awesome with the Cobia, you are a fast runner, lol. Im here in KDH right now. Went fishing in my kayak at the inlet this morning but only caught a bunch of small fish. Guess I'll have to try from shore soon.

Yea as you could hear I was plenty surprised lol. First I thought he had a sandbar. Then I saw the fin and I was thinking maybe a nurse. 100% wasnt expecting a cobia.

Yea I didn't even try to take mine out. I was reading the reports and it didn't seem like anyone was getting much of anything. I'd just throw cutbait past the first sandbar if I were you and see what giants you can entice.

Now I wish I would have kept all of the pinfish, pigfish, and spot that I caught for bait...

I'll give you a hint to getting them back quickly....bloodworm fish bites ;-) worked wonders for us all week

Yea the whiting were thick! Caught a couple nice. Ones around the 12" mark. I wanted to get out and fish underneath bonner bridge but just never got around to it. I'll be going back in the fall though for sure

What kind of cut bait were you using down here. I'm catching lots of small 8"Croaker. Will that work?
