  • Snakeheads in Upper Potomac

The snakehead may not be taking over as aggressively as previously thought, but it is spreading.
Looks like it used the canal to get up there.

Japan has a largemouth problem. I have a friend over there and says there are designated largemouth lakes on the island but some "bucket biologists" released some into some of their famous trout lakes and impoundments and people are freaking out. Bass fishing is really popular over there but I guess there are only so many lakes on an island..

Many countries imported Large Mouth Bass from U.S. merely for the symbolic value of it. It is an "iconic American fish" after-all. American-made professional bass tournaments on outdoor channels are pretty much broadcast throughout the world. You would be surprised at the number of people wanting to live/fish like Americans do. Let's call it "the power of TV and capitalism".
